Is Blogging An Adventure For You? With A Special Offer…

Blogging Idaho

Blogging Idaho

Yo Yo Yo! Adventure Sauce is now a little over 200 days old and our adventurous community has grown to almost 1,100!

Although I’m not really a Number-Checking-Kinda-Guy, for fun today I tallied up some key statistics on Adventure Sauce. Since her ‘birth’ on Sept 19, 2011, we’ve had over 440,000 views on Youtube and Vimeo, 38,000 visits to the website, and almost 1,100 people have joined our Email Posse.

Not to bad considering, a few years ago, I was refusing to join Facebook and spending most of my time directing a school in the pine forests of Virginia.

Heck… even a little over a year ago, I had no idea how to set up a successful blog.

When I knew I wanted to start blogging though, I decided to seek out the BEST TEACHERS online and apply their methods. Corbett Barr was one of those mentors and enrolling in his premium online course, Traffic School, was one of the main reasons I’ve had success.

The Quick & Dirty On How Adventure Sauce Was Born

Last winter, although I was broke at the time, I didn’t want to jump into a job I hated. I had learned so much in my hitchhiking adventures around the USA that I knew I could help other adventurous souls make their dreams happen.

So I decided to start a blog to inspire young adventurers to embark on their own journeys, so they can travel, work, and live their own way.

It made sense to found a location independent business around this theme, so I could solely focus on it and not have to juggle a side job. Plus, the money would support me as I pursued another dream of mine… to travel and adventure around the world over the next 5 years.

So… I made it happen.

I knew little, so I enrolled in the best course on blogging. I did some research and decided on Corbett’s course for a number of reasons. Then I just had to scrape up the money to enroll and I was on track.

If you are considering starting a blog or website to fund your own adventures, then maybe Corbett’s course can help you have similar success. At the end of this article, I’m happy to offer you a sweet deal on the course (which isn’t open to the public yet) and also give you a chance to support Adventure Sauce in the process.

I am really happy I started blogging too… it might even be the most fulfilling adventure I have taken yet.

Wilderness Man Blog

Here are 5 reasons why blogging has been perfect for me and why it might be for you too.

1. Eyes On My Art

Since September 2011, over 300,000 people have watched my video, I Love People: 5,000 miles, 3,000 photos, 930 people. I’ve received thousands of nice messages from around the world thanking me for the inspiration, offering me a place to stay, or sharing their own dreams of traveling.

I’m an artist at my core and blogging has been the perfect ‘gallery’ for me to show my work.

2. Create My Posse

One of my readers asked me, “How do you find people who understand you?”

Well… it hasn’t been easy.

As I’ve strayed from living a life that our societal norms suggest, I’ve found the journey lonely at times. My values differ from most 9-to-5-ers and I’m more ambitious than most hitchhiking, train-hopping, traveler kids.

I’ve had to start my own crew and my blog has been the huge flag that has drawn in a similar crowd.

I’ve met some people who are really going huge too.

***Niall joined me in my I Love People video and is now traveling the world without flying.

***Nikki and Jason invited my girlfriend and I to stay with them in Dallas as we hitchhiked thru Texas. They were taking a few months off from exploring the USA in their RV.

***Nancy recognized me from Youtube in a Californian coffeeshop and invited me to stay in her home for a couple days. She and her husband Vern also showed me some great spots to hike in the Redwoods.

3. Improve My Craft

I never went to film school and I don’t have a master’s degree in writing. I decided to save thousands of dollars and just start making my art. Every time I write a post or make a video, I receive instant feedback on my work.

I’m learn by creating, by researching my own projects, and by connecting with others who inspire me. My blog is an essential tool for this.

4. Helping People Be Alive

If I am just traveling, I actually get a little bored. I feel an intense desire to share and help others go after their dream adventures. I envision a much more supportive and encouraging world, so I strive to create it in my daily actions.

Blogging has given my adventures a purpose that is larger than myself and this is deeply fulfilling.

5. A Monster Challenge

Blogging hasn’t been easy.

I’ve posted over 50 articles and made over 50 videos in almost 7 months. I created these as I was traveling, hitchhiking, couchsurfing, and adventuring all along the West Coast, Canada, Mexico, and in the Southern USA.

There were definitely times when I was completely overwhelmed.

But I distinguish myself from the thousands of other bloggers by making art that are over and above what everyone else is doing.

I always want to blow your hair back and knock your socks off, so it can sometimes take me 40-50 hours to create one video.

When I write a post, I want to make it the best article that has ever been written about the topic, so I spend many hours writing, researching, and editing my articles.

I spend a lot of time working on my art and sometimes I miss out on adventures my friends are embarking on.

But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love the work and sharing my adventures on a blog has given me an incentive to really push my own boundaries.

Without Adventure Sauce, maybe I wouldn’t have jumped off of a bridge or climbed Mt. Rundle or made some ruin porn in Detroit.

Corbett Barr Traffic School

Corbett Barr

Corbett recently jumped into blogging and he has been tremendously successful. I love his style, because he focuses on creating Epic Shit content and NOT how to scam people to make money online.

He runs 3 blogs and Think Traffic is the primary blog I read about how to grow my audience.

Plus, I had a beer with him in San Francisco recently and he is a solid dude. He lives in Mexico a few months a year and does the worm at parties sometimes for fun.

Why I support Traffic School?

It worked for me.

I regularly hear from my readers and other bloggers how awesome my blog looks. Readers write me how helpful the articles have been and how the videos are SICK! A new friend recently even called the design… Sticky (If you aren’t hip to blogger lingo, this is a good thing :) .

Traffic School has been essential to my success, because:

A. Corbett’s philosophy of focusing on epic content, just plain works.

B. The video lessons are easy-to-follow and interesting.

C. Corbett includes helpful interviews with some of the most popular bloggers online. Dudes like Leo Baubauta, Gary Vaynerchuk, Chris Guillebeau, and Ramit Sethi run some of the biggest blogs online.

D. There are forums to get feedback, support, and connect with other beginning, ambitious bloggers. I’ve met some amazing friends through these, which have been invaluable to my business.

E. Don’t forget that he offers a full refund and guarantee, so there is no risk if the course doesn’t work for you.
